Spoon & Nut was created when I moved back to the US after having lived in the UK for over 2 years. After buying a jar of"craft" peanut butter from my local market in London, I fell in love with the unique roast and extra crunchy nuts. I emailed the company immediately to let them know it was the best peanut butter I'd ever tasted, and they loved my enthusiasm, so asked me to help them around my full-time job! Then begun a fun journey of helping with food festivals and spreading the word about a product I was truly passionate about. When I moved home to the US, "dark-roasted" peanut butter was nowhere to be found, so I learned to make it myself. Now, I want to share it with everyone--it's so delicious and unique!
Dry-roasted peanuts are purchased and roasted again (no oil used) for a deep roasted flavor. They are then blended in a food processor or blender, "crunchy" buts are hand-ground in a mortar and pestle. Depending on the flavor, remaining ingredients are combined and then they are poured into individual jars for consumption. I don't hold any specific certification but hold my food manufacturing license with the Department of Agriculture.
