Spring Run Design Company is an outdoor lifestyle brand and woodworking company that was born in the plains and created in the mountains. Two storms created this brand and are the foundation of this company.
A storm that knocked down 63 trees on the Helgens’ Farmstead in rural Iowa (Monticello) that created a self-taught woodworker. To a storm and lightning strike hitting founder Kory Helgens, 9,000 feet up in the mountains of Colorado pushing him to create and launch the SRD Co apparel brand.
From our apparel that is hand-designed in house to our canoe paddles and one of a kind woodworking pieces, we are a company that focuses on quality handmade goods and the great outdoors.

My name is Kory Helgens and I am the owner and founder of Spring Run Design Company. Two storms helped me create this business, one storm that knocked down 63 trees on my family farm pushing me to learn how to handcraft one of kind woodoworking pieces from those 63 trees.
Another storm was surviving a lightning strike in the mountains of Colorado pushing me to create an outdoor apparel line that is inspired from my experiences and adventures from being out in the great outdoors.
I strive to create quality handcrafted woodworking pieces that are not only beautiful but can be useful as well, and an apparel line that is designed from my experiences I have in the outdoors.
