Manager

Lisa Marie Ghezzi
Lisa Marie is an EAS Certified Master Beekeeper ’21. She has been beekeeping 17 years and currently manages the majority of her colonies at Maxmore Creek Farm, on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Her small-scale/sideliner operation produces and sells honey, queens and NUCs. She is very active in the beekeeping industry serving on the boards and committees of several organizations. She actively participates on the American Beekeeping Federation board and several committees, on the Eastern Apiculture Society as a committee member, and as President of the local Wye River Beekeepers Association. Lisa Marie was an active Master Gardener for over 25 years, but keeps current as an emeritus member.

Lisa Marie has a keen interest understanding native plants, managing pests of the hive and working with hygienic queens and colonies. She maintains a focus on these three pillars to maximize the health of her colonies and enjoys sharing her experiences with others. Mentoring other beekeepers and raising public awareness for the need of good forage keeps her busy in her local community. She recently presented a poster at Apimondia in Copenhagen to get more involved in the international beekeeping community and help comprehend and address new challenges to the beekeepers.
