Koko's Clay

My pottery journey started several years ago and has since become a personal passion of mine. I create and design wheel thrown functional pottery, producing various utilitarian and aesthetic forms such as latte mugs, bowls and plates. Utilizing surface design techniques such as applying texture, pattern and colour during the creation of my pieces gives them depth of character and brings them to life. I enjoy using the surface design techniques such as chattering to apply texture to my pieces as well as experimenting with the layering of different coloured ceramic glazes and stains. All of my ceramic pieces are food safe and intended for everyday use. Most recently I have been delving into the world of agateware which is created from the mixing of two different clay bodies of different colours to produce a marble effect.
