We specialize in handcrafted açaí bowls made with as many organic and local ingredients as possible. Our passion is to raise the bar with the quality of our bowls and the vibrant ambience in our shops and event booths. We also serve warm and savory bowls, Brazilian Cheesebreads, and avocado toasts.

We met while working at Sambazon, the organic and fair trade açaí company. We both have spent 20 years each in the natural food and beverage products industry. Matthew started at Tazo and then worked at Kombucha Wonder Drink before starting at Sambazon. After Sambazon, Matthew started a local distribution company. Richard joined Sambazon as a founding member and was head of sales and business development for 10 years. After Sambazon, he worked as President of Runa and consulted as an investor and/or board member for a wide range of companies in the industry. We’re both passionate about taking all of this industry experience to create Carioca Bowls as the ultimate açaí experience for all the senses!
