Betty Fay’s 2nd Handmade is a small, family-owned business that operates out of Tampa, Florida that specializes in dynamic, handmade, and custom décor and garden ornaments, as well as refurbished furniture. We create an eclectic collection of handmade and painted mosaic stones, concrete stones and coasters, concrete jewelry pendants, multi-purpose stones and tiles, concrete vases, mosaic pieces, garden planters, and more.
Sociology professor by day, creator by night, I'm a healthy mix of "social justice warrior" and "get out of Michaels and into Home Depot!" I love funky, frenetic, mis-matched, eclectic things — I'm always for something honest and different, perhaps unusual, but somehow perfect. Making and creating have come to be joys for me, particularly when doing so for others. Whether in the classroom or in the shop, my hopes are to touch someone for the better. I think that the world could use more of that...Increasingly so.
My partner and I live in the Tampa area with our three fur-kids, Petey, Arlo, and Oblina. We both live for the messy, rewarding, power-tool obsessing, frustrating, impossible, amazing, filthy, joyful escape of making stuff. Our hopes are that by sharing such "stuff" with others, perhaps, one day, we'll be rewarded with an opportunity to make Betty Fay's more than just a part-time endeavor.
