McKenzie Farm

Since 2013, Glenn and Merydth have built a 93 acre family farm just outside of Balderson. Staying small has encouraged sustainability and allowed livestock and poultry to be raised without relying on environmentally unfriendly pesticides and fertilizers. Fertile fields that formerly grew conventional cash crops have been seeded to grass and nitrogen-capturing clover and alfalfa for our cattle, chickens and laying hens. Intensive rotational grazing techniques are used to improve soil and plant health and reduce the need for potentially harmful tillage. Over the past several summers our son, Rowan, has become more involved, growing a flourishing market garden. We sell beef, chicken, eggs and vegetables.
