About

My mother always tells me she doesn’t know where I got it. No one in my family could bake, yet it somehow came naturally to me. I started making my own birthday cakes at a very young age. The first time I tasted my homemade frosting for a Little Mermaid cake at the age of 5, I was hooked. I couldn’t believe such a simple concoction could be so tasty. Frosting also giving me the chance to play with my food and turn it into art.

I went on to become a professional baker and cook. I dedicated close to a decade of my life to these vocations. Many of the recipes still in use today at Ozark Natural Food were created by me. I learned so much from my mentor during the years I was employed at ONF. She preferred traditional baking so I often took on the special orders for allergens and dietary restrictions.

I’m back to being a home baker now, whipping up new and old recipes most weeks to share with friends and family. They have come to rely on my baking for birthdays and other special occasions. Even though a majority of them aren’t vegan like me they still request that I make their favorite sweet treats. All of my baked goods are 100% plant based and I strive to use mostly organic and all natural ingredients.

I have struggled finding decent fresh baked vegan goods especially deserts locally. I think there’s a big void of delicious plant based sweets in NWA. It’s always so disappointing when you treat yourself and the treat tastes terrible. This has happened to me so many times that I finally realize my expertise may be the best way to fill this void. I want to help change the stigma that vegan food has to taste bad.

I want to supply lots of hand held options such as scones, muffins, cookies, cupcakes, hand pies and more. These can easily be eaten while walking around the market or they can be packaged to munch on later.

I want to be a bigger part of my community by providing something that I and several people I know say is needed in our area, absolutely delicious plant based deserts.

I truly feel that food is one of the best ways to bring people together and the Farmers’ Market is a testament to that. I am honored by this amazing opportunity to share my yummy plant based goodies with the community at the Fayetteville, Arkansas Farmers’ Market.

Glad to meet you, I’m Kendra Sours, sole baker at Ms. Sours’ Sweet Spot. My goal is to provide absolutely delicious plant based baked goods to my local community at the Fayetteville Farmers’ Market. I’ve been a home baker most my life and have almost a decade of professional baking and cooking experience as well. After all these years of people trying my baked goods I’m happy to say that the comment I hear most often is “I can’t believe this is vegan.”
