Our coffee is sustainably sourced from small family farms, quite often two acres or less in size. The importers we choose work in unison with the farmers, paying fair market prices. We roast in small batches in our shop in Carmel to ensure the coffee is always fresh and consistent. Ben Larson and his small team hand pick each coffee origin, bringing eco-friendly sustainability to your doorstep.

Our Story
Way back in 2018 Ben Larson started roasting coffee at home in a popcorn popper made in 1980 that he bought on Ebay. After a few years of roasting tiny single pot batches in the garage and backyard, Ben decided to purchase a 5 kilo Diedrich commercial roaster, and launch his coffee roasting company in Carmel, IN. Although it seemed a little crazy at the middle age of 46, those who know Ben weren’t surprised.
Naming the company was a bit of a challenge, but as one does Ben decided to combine 2 of his passions, kayaking and coffee roasting, into his company’s brand name. Kayak Coffee was born! Kayak Coffee now keeps the roaster running daily providing coffee for coffee shops, online orders, businesses, churches, special events, and farmers markets. Finding time to kayak is the hard part!
