Fruits & Veggies Farm Collective
Vendor
Fruits & Veggies Farm Collective is a group of four friends and food producers in the Snoqualmie Valley: Ari from Kamayan Farm, Martie and Chloe from Long Way Farm, Emma from Rising Sign Farm. As friends, we spent a lot of time talking about our future, how much we love growing things, and if it was ever going to be possible to make a living farming. We decided it didn’t make sense for each of us to continue farming on our own, and instead we saw a path where we could all work together to grow more food and find more balance in our lives. In 2023, we began with one pop-up market at the Flora Bakehouse.
Today, we are building on our original vision. Fruits & Veggies FC is our way of bringing a celebratory and creative spirit to our work in agriculture, teaming up to share the produce that we love, and fighting back against the isolation of farming.
In some ways, Fruits & Veggies FC is similar to other farms you might be familiar with. You can get our produce through a CSA, you can find us at farmers markets, and we’re working directly with food banks and hunger relief orgs to grow vegetables for them. In other ways, we are approaching farming differently. One of our central goals is to increase farmer pay to get closer to a living wage, and to build a farm that is sustainable for us all to work on. We are using our collective strength to grow food and flowers in a way that supports thriving people, thriving ecosystems, and thriving communities.
Integrated Pest Management Use Only Organic Materials Crop Rotation Holistic Management Non Gmo Low Till
We strive to build soil health through limited tilling, the use of crop rotation, cover crops, and compost. We limit single use plastic as much as possible during production and distribution.
Our farms follow Organic and Certified Naturally Grown practices. We purchase certified organic seeds that are open-pollinated and grown in the Pacific Northwest whenever possible. We also take the utmost care to ensure our produce meets all food safety guidelines.
Emma (primary contact), Ari, Martie, Chloe
Ari has dedicated the last 10 years of her life building Kamayan Farm, a veggie and flower farm specializing in heritage Asian crops and dried flower creations. Her goal is to increase the ability to produce veggies for our low-income neighbors and share the joy of Asian crops. She loves seeing elders’ faces light up when they see a beloved crop being grown locally. Outside of farming, Ari can be found making pottery, sewing, surfing, and reveling in time with her loved ones. She’s very excited about being able to collaborate with some of her smartest and most passionate farmer friends.
Chloe has spent the last decade learning how to grow veggies and she has been proud to co-own Long Way Farm for the past three years. Her goal is to grow nutritious produce for as many people as she can, take care of her body while she farms and prioritize farming practices that enrich the soil she is lucky enough to tend. She considers herself incredibly fortunate to be able to do something she loves and even more so to be a part of this collective and work alongside some of the most incredible people she's ever met.
Emma has been farming in the Snoqualmie Valley for the last ten years, and has owned and operated Rising Sign Farm for the last five. She believes deeply in the power and joy of feeding people, and of the importance of caring for the land and growing food. She is so excited to be a part of this collective not only because together we have more power and more resilience, but also because working with friends is more fun.
Martie has been farming in the Snoqualmie Valley since 2019 and has co-owned and operated Long Way Farm since 2022. They are excited to be a part of this collective, and view it as a chance to strengthen their connections with other growers, the land, and community. Martie is grateful to be a steward of the land, and to keep building relationships through that work.
