I create unique wall hangings with origami. I work primarily with paper cranes, meticulously folded from black, white, or color paper, hand-painted watercolor paper, or repurposed paper from items such as maps, kid's books and dictionaries. My cranes are strung from discovered wood, handmade pine triangle shelves, or metal hoops with modern dreamcatcher designs. Featuring handcrafted and dyed tassels and feathers, or natural materials such as crystals, wood, concrete, sea glass and sea shells.
Ever since I was a little girl I’ve been fascinated by origami. I find the methodical repetition of folding paper calming and meditative. These little birds started piling up so I started making wall art with them. I'm inspired by the colors, elements, and seasons of nature, and enjoy sharing a playful, vibrant happiness through my work.
