About

Farmers and Cooks is a family run business focusing on local organic ingredients. We make seasonal food for markets and catered events. We have a bread program using flour from a local mill called (Groudup) - bread for the people which is a give back program we created helping people in need donating bread to local shelters as well as showing up in times of crisis across the state.

Chef Whitney was trained at the New England Culinary Institute in Vermont he worked at Sierra Mar Restaurant at Post Ranch Inn Ca. He also worked at Tocqueville restaurant, right outside Union Square, where he spent a lot of time cultivating relationships with local organic farmers. Julie manages the business together they had a successful catering company in Los Angeles for ten years and a mom and pop restaurant / bar before coming back to the east coast five years ago to work with 9 Main Cafe in New Preston CT bringing sustainability as well as seasonality to their menu. They can also be seen at Westport Market throughout the season.

Farmers and Cooks shop with the seasons - local and organic - creating savory and sweet items from scratch. We are a creative team of people who love to make fresh breads and healthy organic food. We believe in using only the best ingredients and sourcing from our local farmers throughout Connecticut
