Black Reishi/Lingzhi (Ganoderma neo-japonicus) - 'Imazeki'

Black Reishi (Ganoderma neo-japonicum) has been used folk-medicinally by certain indiginous tribes-people of Malaysia to treat symptoms of diabetes, with scientific research supporting its role in insulin-like action on blood glucose levels. In addition, this mushroom contains a catalogue of compounds often found in Reishi mushrooms of all colours which serve to support the immune-system, fight cancer and protect the liver. Black Reishi tea is considered 'less bitter' tasting than Red Reishi. Use alongside Purple Reishi is recommended, as the latter promotes bloodcell formation, whilst overuse of Black Reishi on its own may occasionally cause a reduction in bloodcell formation.
