Los Ortegas Pupuseria

Pupusas are a traditional salvadorean dish. A thick corn shell tortilla stuffed with your choice of filling. Our most popular being our “Mix” seasoned pork beans and cheese. Accompanied with a pickled slaw and salsa. Our business started with our dear mother! She sold Pupusas as extra form of income to raise us 3 kids. Always bringing people back for more and asking, “when are you guys going to open up a restaurant??” As we got older we made it our dream to spread as much of our culture and our mothers delicious recipe to as many people as possible. Anytime we tried to make the dream come true… something got in the way. Road blocks. The timing was just never right. Fast forward to 3 years ago we came across a food truck for sale and it felt like another opportunity. With all of us having our full time jobs we thought this would be a good way to ease into it. It’s been so much fun embarking on this journey and we never could have imagine such wonderful feedback. This has only fueled our fire! Last year’s farmers market was an incredible experience. We added a breakfast option, chorizo and cheese pupusa topped with a fried egg. It was a hit!! The best part is we got to serve more of the CR community! Teaching more people about our food and culture! We learned so much and are ready to take on our second year.
