Jones Creek Farms is first and foremost a sustainable farm. Using the philosophy of common sense farming, i.e. sustainability, we strive to use the lowest amount of inputs as possible to bring our products to the market. Although most of our farmland is certified USDA organic we have found that the narrow parameters that USDA allows us to operate within stifle creativity and sometimes force the use of more inputs than a non certified scenario would. These non certified situations don't mean your food is any less safe than the certified organic situations. In almost all cases these situations have nothing to do with consumer safety but instead involve matters that do effect the environment, the operator, the long term health of the permacrop (trees) and last but not least the ridiculous amount of government tracking, monitoring, intrusion and paperwork that goes into being organic certified.
