Institute for the Creative Arts

ICA Fort Smith is the first Performing & Visual Arts High School in Arkansas! We combine a rigorous college prep program with pre-professional training in the arts. We are a tuition-free public charter which means Arkansas students attend for free. ICA offers programs in dance, music, theatre, and visual art. Our students spend half of their school day in art classes and half of their day in academics and is designed for any student entering grades 9-11, with 12th grade being added in August 2025. We are located in our brand new performing arts center on the riverfront, right beside the United States Marshals Museum.
