Happier Place
Vendor
Happier Place was launched by Luci Westphal and Scott Solary to offer tools, tips and inspiration for people to be happier by having fun outdoors and cherishing nature.
We offer practical products that make a Happy Place better (e.g., always-ready bag, hats) and that motivate (e.g., "Take a break. Go outside. Have fun." t-shirt, "Stop. Look. Appreciate." notebook, "Be brave. Be kind. Be happier." can cooler) and that help the environment (e.g., insulated stainless steel bottle). We carefully choose our products and manufacturers to avoid or lessen any negative impact on the environment or society.
We also sell calendars, cards and prints featuring nature photography by Luci Westphal.
Of equal importance to us is what we don't offer for purchase, but provide for free to inspire people to enjoy life outdoors: location guides, people profiles, picnic recipes, and how-to articles.
Originally started in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, the Happier Place base camp recently moved to the beach on the Florida Gulf Coast. Wherever we are, our aim is to help our customers and audience make their lives a bit happier by reducing stress, having fun and staying connected with nature.
Luci Westphal
Luci launched Happier Place together with Scott Solary after moving from Brooklyn to Colorado and realizing that spending more time out in nature made them happier. Now she wants to help other people get happier, too.
The growing collection of Happier Place products is based on her own experience of what works to get her outdoors faster and more often. All products should help maximize the fun and minimize or even eliminate negative impact on the environment.
She uses her skills as a photographer, filmmaker and writer to create content that brings joy, creates a connection to nature, and inspires people to head outside.
After living in big cities and the mountains, Luci and Scott (and Whiskey Dog) recently moved to a new Happier Place: the beach! Luci is originally from Germany and always loves to chat with other expats and travelers - in English or German.
