Reece Farm and Ranch

Reece Farm and Ranch, situated in northern Idaho near Moscow, was established in 2019 when the military brought the Reece family to the area. Despite having lived in various places around the country and the world, the unique blend of factors in the Moscow area – the people, weather, rivers, and mountains – prompted them to make it their permanent home.

Having observed a growing trend towards people wanting to know the origin of their food and reduce the distribution chain, more farmers and ranchers are now focusing on local food production. Luke, set to retire from 20 years of military service in 2024, and Erin, a dedicated stay-at-home mom and homeschool teacher, are excited about contributing to this movement by providing locally sourced beef and pork this year.

Amidst a national trend of aging farmers without a sustainable influx of younger replacements, the Reece family sees their farming journey as a valuable opportunity to pass down the knowledge of farming and ranching to their four children. Their long-term plan involves establishing a diverse herd, including exploring options like eggs, raw milk, and dairy products.

Starting with raw land, the family's focus areas include revitalizing fields, building soil health, and creating a wholesome environment for their animals and crops. As they embark on this journey, the Reece family invites others to follow along and consider reserving a share of their fall 2024 beef or pork production. Emphasizing quality, excellent customer service, and fair prices, they express gratitude for the support and look forward to this new chapter in their lives.
