After surviving breast cancer in my early thirties, I decided to change my life by adding in more things that I enjoy, while also being a wife and super mom of two young girls. I wanted to show them and others that even when life knocks you down and you have every reason to give up, you have to create positivity and surround yourself with joy to be fulfilled. I got back into art, which I have always loved to create but never made time for, which severely benefitted my mental health.
I make a wide range of ceramics, from functional pottery (mugs, vases, plates) to animal planters, to lamps and sculptures. I do both wheel throwing and hand building, and am constantly educating myself in other modalities of ceramic art. I also delve in other art mediums, but are supplemental, as my primary focus is pottery.
