The Magical Spatula Bakery
Specialty Food Artisan
We offer custom cakes, fresh pastries, delicious desserts and much more. Our products are baked with high quality and fresh ingredients from local stores; we have a variety of recipes: some from Costa Rica, some from my grandmother and other traditional French/Italian baked goods. Also, we offer gluten free, dairy free, sugar free and low carb alternatives too. We try to keep in our menu different products for every lifestyle and season without losing our beautiful Latin culture touch.
Ana Sáenz
Hello everyone! My name is Ana Sáenz, I’m from Costa Rica; and I’m the owner and Pastry Chef from The Magical Spatula Bakery. My husband and I moved to Northwest Arkansas in December 2015, 8 years ago. While trying to get adjusted in a new country, I was looking for hobbies to help with the transition of being away from my family and friends; and my mind automatically transported me to my safe place which was and still is the kitchen. Ever since I was 4 years old, I’ve been in the kitchen with my grandmother. I remember baking with her all the time for special occasions, gatherings or just because we simply wanted to try a new recipe from any of her friends. She baked every single one of my birthday cakes until I was probably 15 years old. She is my biggest fan and inspiration to start this business. The Magical Spatula bakery was created when I started at Brightwater Culinary Institution back in August 2019, 4 years ago. I was mainly baking for my friends and family; until decided to open officially to the public as business in January 2022. It is an online bakery, working under the Cottage Law. My clients place orders on social media, text, or email. We are part time vendors at The Farmers Market in Bentonville, and we participate at pop-ups around the community.
