Hello! We're JunkLabz, specializing in plastic recycling in Charlottesville, VA. We collect plastic from UVA research labs, then clean, shred, melt, and transform it into new products, preventing it from ending up in landfills. Currently, we produce small tiles, with a wider range of small items and some larger furniture items coming soon. Our mission is to reduce plastic waste in landfills through recycling, reuse, and reduction, employing circular design principles. We strive for transparency, education, and trust-building in the recycling process, sharing our journey on Instagram @junklabz.

Our market stand concept revolves around selling small recycled plastic items (such as keychains, tiles, coasters, etc.) in vibrant, colorful plastic scrap colorways. Additionally, we plan to offer merchandise made from upcycled thrifted clothes, stamped by us. We believe showcasing our products in this fashion presents an excellent opportunity to connect with the Charlottesville community, educate them about our process and motivations, and foster mutually beneficial relationships as JunkLabz expands.
