Royal Scottish Country Dance Society Central Iowa Branch
Vendor
The Central Iowa Branch of the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society is a group of friends that share a love and enthusiasm for Scottish Country Dancing. We're a public organization that is open to all who are interested in this recreational social dance and meet weekly in Des Moines and Ames. Everyone has a partner (typically a different person for each dance) and forms “sets” of 3 to 5 couples. The dancers then carry out a series of "figures" that are first taught by a leader. The accompanying music will be reels, jigs, and strathspey tunes traditional to Scotland.
