Sewing has been my life-long passion. At various times it has been my refuge from stress, a creative outlet, a recession proof trade and a wonderful way to connect with people.
Finding myself in “Empty Nester” territory, I was looking for a new challenge. And, as always, sewing is the key to my “Second Act”. With over 15 years of manufacturing experience and 40 years designing, I knew I wanted to create something new, exciting, unique, and high quality that solves problems in an overlooked market. But what is THAT?
In 2015, I moved from Minnesota to Boise, ID, sight unseen, when my daughter left for college in San Diego. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I love Boise and amazing people who live here. Once arrived, I needed a job. I used my sewing skills to create stability, but nothing seemed to “click”.
I found success within the knitting, crochet and needlework markets with a system of travel bags and storage pouches designed to address the unique needs of these amazing artists! These items can be found on FB, Instagram, Etsy and The Twisted Ewe in Garden City, ID.
In the Fall of 2018, I walked into Crones Cupboard looking for a new challenge. It was immediately apparent that there was a need for a user-focused line of high-quality bags and storage solutions that make portable the tools used by these amazingly diverse practitioners. It is my intention to create a system of unique products that each have features that speak to the needs of the practitioner. It is important that my bags are function forward, intuitive and easy to use. I take pride that my products are beautifully crafted with high quality materials. I want to provide my customers with a “statement bag” that compliments their lifestyle and their passion!
Today I make high quality handbags, hats, wearables and home goods that are fun and totally UNIQUE!
