The Yurtstead, LLC

The Yurtstead, LLC is a small, woman owned regenerative farm operation in Montrose, Colorado. Jenn Mueller provides the conduit between her communities and ethical, observant farming practices. Her 10-acre farm is a vibrant lifescape resplendent with critters – chickens, turkeys, geese, pigs, and bees – and two acres of interplanted food and flower extravanganza. She receives assistance from seasonal interns and community members, and she provides her vittles at the Montrose, Ridgway, and Crested Butte farmers’ markets. She provides a thoughtful interface between her individual customers and their food, and a compassionate ear as she assists with vegetable selection.
2021 and 2022 were tumultuous years on the farm, with a 100-year flood sweeping the farm in 2021 and significant personal upheaval following, like an aftershock, for years thereafter. The farm has provided solace and nourishment to heal damaged souls and soils, rooting this complicated revitalization process deeply through the work of serving community. She is grateful for the enthusiastic support of her communities and is dedicated to strengthening that relationship.
