In 2016, Maria Elena Guzman founded Milena Guro Designs with the vision of sharing the rich cultural heritage of her native Peru with the world. Through the preservation and celebration of traditional craftsmanship, she has proven that passion, hard work, and strong community relationships can transform a dream into a global movement.
Milena Guro Designs is built on four core pillars: Peruvian craftsmanship, community engagement, environmental sustainability, and social equity. With a focus on traditional goldsmithing and textile artistry, Maria collaborates closely with skilled artisans from rural communities. In 2019, Maria expanded her mission by founding LAREXPO (Latin-American Artisans and Entrepreneurs Expo), a platform dedicated to empowering artisans across Latin America. This initiative fosters community development through mentorship, collaboration, and the celebration of Latin American cultural treasures, bridging ancient traditions with a global marketplace.
