Benincasa Community Farm

Hi!

My name is Sean Gargamelli McCreight, and I am co-founder and lead farmer at the Benincasa Community Farm, a volunteer run, small non-profit farm in Guilford, CT. At Benincasa, we partner with local organizations, churches, and school groups to share about sustainable community-based food production. Additionally, in the last two years we have grown and distributed over 4 tons of free, healthy organic produce to local food pantries and others in need.

Benincasa Community is also in close relationship with the Amistad House and Rosette Neighborhood Village, a supportive tiny-house community of unhoused neighbors in New Haven. This year we are looking to expand our operation by including the members of the RNV in the farm work, production and sales and of vegetables and value added goods (like handmade soaps, sauces, and candles) at area markets while also sharing equally in the profits made.
