About

CitySeed's Wooster Square Farmers Market is located in New Haven’s Little Italy neighborhood and provides a Saturday morning market experience for nearby residents with live music, cooking demonstrations, and special events. It is an open-air, producer-only market, which ensures that all produce sold at the market is grown locally by each farmer. Wooster Square Farmers’ Market includes over 30 vendors with a variety of locally grown products including fresh fruits and vegetables, meats, seafood, artisan breads, homemade pies, honey, milk and cheese, native plants, herbs, and specialty food items.

Cash, credit and debit cards are accepted all CitySeed Farmers’ Markets. CitySeed also offers double value for SNAP (food stamps) at all of its markets. Use SNAP on any SNAP-eligible products at the CitySeed Farmers’ Markets, and CitySeed will match up to $10 per day, solely for additional fruits, vegetables, and seedlings! Come to the CitySeed Information Tent for more information.

CitySeed is a nonprofit organization that seeks to provide access to fresh, local food for all New Haven residents. In our view, access is a combination of proximity to food, affordability of food, and knowledge about food. We operate a series of food-related services and activities toward that end.

CitySeed’s mission is to engage the community in growing an equitable, local food system that promotes economic development, community development and sustainable agriculture. Our vision is to create a sustainable model of local economy, urban community, regional agriculture, environmental stewardship, and well-being through food.
