July 3rd Party Like a Patriot Celebration and Fireworks

Thank you for your interest, we are no longer accepting food truck applications for the July 3rd event.!

They City of Oak Creek will celebrating America's 250th Year of Independence with a two-day event, July 3rd will be the Party like a Patriot Celebration and Fireworks at Lake Vista Park from 3pm-10pm. We are looking for food trucks to participate in this event.  Food truck set-up will begin at 1:30pm, all trucks must be ready to serve at 3pm, trucks will need to stay until fireworks start at dusk. If you are interested in participating, please fill out the application. 

As part of our July 3rd celebration, the Celebration Commission is excited to bring back the Chalk It Up Challenge. Get ready to showcase your artistic talents and transform the sidewalks at Lake Vista Park into a kaleidoscope of colors. The Chalk It Up Challenge will take place at Lake Vista Park beginning at 3pm. Each participant will have 7x7 area to create their chalk design. Judging will take place at 6:30pm. Awards will be given out at 7pm.

Terms and Conditions: 

• Entry is Free 

• Registration is required (same day registration will be accepted but all participants must be registered no later than 5:30pm

• Contest is open to children, teens, and adults 

• Chalk entries will be judged by the following age categories: ages 5-12 (children), ages 13-17 (teens) and ages 18+ (adults)

• 3 winners per category - 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place. (medals and prizes will awarded in each age category)

• Theme: Party like a Patriot -250th Year of Independence 

• Your chalk area will be assigned to you at check-in. Check-in will begin at 3pm. All participants must be checked-in no later than 5:30pm. 

• Material Restrictions: Participants may bring their own chalk, brushes, or water. All chalk must be washable (no chalk paint will be allowed) Chalk will be provided for anyone that does not bring their own

• This is a family event. Artwork must be family friendly. The challenge judges have the right to disqualify and participant for artwork deemed inappropriate

• Artwork will be judged by the following criteria: creative expression, use of color, design, artistic talent based on age category, and overall impression 

• The decision of the judges is final

• All chalk drawings must be completed by 7pm - judging will begin promptly at 7pm with prize announcements at 7:30pm.
