About

The Green Valley Farmers Market will host primarily producers of healthy and fresh foods, with a time for shopping, building relationships, a family meal and entertainment in the John Robinson Jr. Town Square on Friday's. The market is designed to offer a diversity of vendors and goods and services that are needed. We will provide affordable fresh foods, educational forums on cooking foods, dinners for consumption or taking home and opportunities for local producers to sell goods that will contribute to the economic development of Green Valley. A Youth market and volunteer opportunities will be offered for youth to engage and be involved with the market.

Portia A. Clark has lived in Green Valley most of her life. She founded can is the President/CEO of the Community Association of Resources, Education, Enrichment & Economics, (CARE), Inc. a 501 (c ) 3 non-profit organization. Mrs. Clark was certified as a Market Manager in 2024. Mrs. Clark is the immediate past President of the Green Valley Civic Association.

The Green Valley Farmers Market is being added to programs that CARE operates that includes a Garden for the Community, Gardening Apprenticeship Program (DAP). She offers afterschool programs for families and youth including 4-H, Healthy Eating, Living and Wellness, Farm to Table and other enrichment activities.

The GVFM includes cooking demonstration, educational forums, entertainment, food to go like a Fish Fry, Walk & Talk, food trucks and Information booths that will help to build a more vibrant and healthy community.
