La Plata Farmers Market

La Plata Farmers Market has been in continuous operation since 1978. We are open April through November, Wednesday and Saturday 9am-2pm. On Wednesdays, you can find us in the parking lot just north of the intersection of Talbot Street and Washington Avenue. On Saturdays, we’re in the main parking lot right behind the Charles County Courthouse.

Southern Maryland has a long agricultural heritage, and we’re helping keep it alive. We welcome independent growers at all stages: hobby farmers, beginning farm businesses, growing farm businesses, and veteran farmers. Farm-raised meat, eggs, and produce are regular offerings, as well as seasonal produce, plants, and honey.

Our cottage food vendors bring variety in the form of jams, jellies, and baked goods for every taste. Handicrafts and plant arrangements on offer make it very easy for you to shop for groceries AND gifts...how often does that happen?

As one of the community hubs of the Town of La Plata, we want you to come and stay awhile, and we know you’ll get hungry. Stop by one of our food trucks for barbecue, beverages, and sweets! You’re sure to find something you’ll like, whether you’re ready for a full meal or just snacky. And when you’re ready to head home, you can take home your selection from a local brewery, winery, or distillery...and, you know, all your other goodies.

Please note that in accordance with La Plata Town Code, the following restrictions are in effect at the Market:- No pets or live animals in Market areas (pets are allowed outside the cones where signs are posted and in the areas directly surrounding the Market)- No smoking in Market areas (smoking is allowed on public sidewalks outside the Market)- No alcohol may be served or consumed from open containers (this does not apply to vendors with valid sampling licenses)
