The Empire Market is an indoor/outdoor public market where the community can gather to enjoy the finest in locally grown produce, gourmet food, and artisan goods. Live music, fun activities, and fine conversation fill our historic brick warehouse, just a few blocks east of downtown.
This market was started by Downtown Joplin Alliance in late spring of 2018, using a historic brick warehouse donated to the organization. Our market is a producer-only market, with a 150-mile radius of vendors. We are starting small, with between 25 and 35 vendors for the first season, and ultimately expanding to over 100. We are primarily an indoor market, but we do have space available in our festival courtyard. This market is a year-round event, so vendor passes are available at any time, provided the category is not full.
Join us for National Farmers Market Week festivities (Aug 5-11)! On Saturday, Aug 11, we will have our official proclamation read, will be handing out "What to Eat & When to Eat It" guides, and have farmers market themed stickers and activities for the kids and the young at heart!
