OnTheSquareVA Farmers Market
OnTheSquareVA Farmers Market is open for the 2022 season from May 19th through September 15th. We are open weekly on Thursdays from 11:00am-1:00pm in Richmond, VA. This farmers market is part of a state employee engagement initiative called OnTheSquareVA. The VA Department of General Services, in partnership with RVAg, will be responsible for hosting the farmers market. We are located at 109 Governor Street on the plaza adjacent to the Virginia Department of Health (Madison building).
On the corner of Governor Street and E Grace Street, OnTheSquareVA Farmers Market is conveniently located near the Virginia State Capitol on the plaza adjacent to the Virginia Department of Health. It's best to Uber, ride your bike or walk to this market, as parking is extremely limited.

Lisa Dearden had over 20+ yrs experience in sales, marketing, finance and training when she switched gears and pursued a degree in Horticulture with a focus on sustainable agriculture. She now lives on a homestead farm in Goochland County, Virginia where she grows fruits and berries and raises chickens, goats, rabbits and alpacas. Her company, Chiknegg Productions, operates an incubator kitchen, which is available for rent by-the-hour, and she offers food safety training and consulting services to food entrepreneurs and organizations looking for help navigating their entry into the local food system. She founded and serves as Executive Director of a non-profit called RVAg that operates multiple farmers markets and pop-up events and provides low-cost/no-cost ag and food-centric educational programs. Lisa currently serves as Chair of the Goochland County Economic Development Authority and as the Treasurer of the Virginia Farmers Market Association.
