The Swarthmore Farmers Market (open on Saturdays, 9:30 to 1:30, from 5/5 to 12/1 with the exception of 11/24) was created to be THE Saturday morning food, art, and community gathering destination for people from Swarthmore and surrounding communities. We connect the community with local farmers and food artisans in a mutually beneficial way. By supporting the sale of a variety of fresh, locally grown food as well as hand crafted items sourced from local ingredients, we enhance the quality of life in and around Swarthmore and contribute to a vibrant and thriving town center. Our aim is to support the health and well-being of residents and promote a robust regional food system to better ensure access to fresh food for everyone!
Current products include fresh fruit, vegetables, mushrooms, herbs, and flowers; irresistible sweet and savory baked goods; locally made chocolates; locally tapped maple syrup; humanely-raised meats and dairy products; decadent sorbetto & natural ice pops; locally roasted coffee by the cup and by the bag; Belgian Liege waffles; handmade seasonal soups; honey and related products; organic sauces and preserves; authentic pierogis; Mexican delicacies; African delicacies; beer, wine, hard cider, and other spirits; lovingly fermented vinegars, and wonderful food from Philly-area food trucks and local restaurants. Plus, we offer handmade bath products, handmade wood products and furniture, alpaca wool, knife sharpening, art and craft items from local artists, live music, activities for kids, special community, healthy living events, and celebrations, and more.
The market is actually in the main municipal parking lot, also called Central Park, right next to Borough Administration, which is at 121 Park Avenue.
