Here at Asilomar, we strive to help build up your wardrobe with cute + comfy staples, while also building a community of likeminded people who love coastal living as much as we do.
I wanted to create a business that emitted a very specific feeling for all who interacted with it. & When thinking about places that have been impactful in my own life, that have given me this feeling, I landed on Asilomar State Beach in Pacific Grove California. I spent a lot of my youth on this beach, combing for shells, playing in the seaweed and watching the sealife in the tidepools. To this day it's my favorite place and I knew I wanted a shop that showcased the energy I felt whenever I was in the surrounding areas of Monterey, PG and Carmel California.
The literal meaning of Asilomar can be broken into two parts. ASILO: meaning asylum, haven or refuge and MAR: meaning sea.
A refuge by the sea -- that's what I think of when I remember the days I've spent walking along the water in Asilomar and that's what I hope you all feel when interacting with this shop!
To the lovers of coastal living and the sea, anywhere you are, this shop is for you!
