About

At Sun to Spoon, we create delightful premium jams with unique flavor combinations using local and regional fruits. Some popular signature flavors are Cherry Cardamom, Peach Bourbon and Blueberry Ginger, but we offer at least 6 or more delicious flavors at once, rotating in new seasonal flavors as fruit becomes available.

To minimize environmental impact, we employ sustainable practices such as composting, recycling, and thoughtful sourcing of supplies and ingredients and minimization of transportation distances for inputs and final product.

During the 2026 summer farmers market season, find us on biweekly or monthly schedules at Broad Ripple, Carmel, The Original Farmers Market, SoBro, and Zionsville.

Customers can also purchase jam at our farm in northwest Marion County by appointment, where we also grow and sell seasonal vegetables, eggs, and honey from our own hives. Stay up to date on farm open hours with our Facebook and Instagram pages! Search Sun to Spoon at KC Sunshine Farm.

Manager

Christy Krieg
Christy Krieg founded Pike Township's KC Sunshine Farm in 2015 and has focused on restoring the 11 acre property with cover cropping and minimal tillage, managing invasive species, and have planted approximately 4 acres of pollinator habitat for wildlife, now certified by the City of Indianapolis as pollinator habitat. The vegetable, orchard and perennial crop business has been a slowing growing enterprise as we have learned to manage pests with intercropping, hand picking and minimal pesticide usage.

In 2022, neighbor Naomi D'Andrea and Christy started selling their natural soaps with minimal packaging to customers at market.

During the 2022 early summer fresh produce dearth, Christy started producing some jams to test the waters and it has been a success, with repeat customers stocking up on favorite flavors and buying jars as gifts for friends and family. This product line also has a focus on sustainability: composting scraps, reusable and recyclable packaging, sugar sourced from Michigan, and use of local or regional fruits to the extent possible.

We rebranded the jam business to Sun to Spoon in 2024 and have enjoyed learning about the scaled up packaged food business and principles of expansion. In 2025, Christy partially retired from her 30 year nursing career and has subsequently expanded Sun to Spoon to additional markets, including wholesale, and produces in a commercial kitchen. Time will tell what the future holds for Sun to Spoon!
