Heart and Soil Herbs
Vendor
Hello! My name is Rachel and I’m so excited to share some traditional homemade herbal remedies with you. My grandmother Carroll Jean was my first teacher and her lessons came in the form of caretaking. I loved her knowing of the greener world and have deep gratitude for all of the community elders, gardeners, and medicine keepers that have shared their learning with me.
At home, I tend medicinal herbal gardens focusing on native plants that become the herb-infused balms, teas, steams, facial care, burning bundles, tinctures and all that I share at market. Products free of pesticide use, chemical preservatives, and synthetic scents.
I love sharing the goodness grown by Mother Earth and feel like each item is a tangible love note, a little reminder that the land we care for offers us care as well.

I've been growing gardens and making balms in Utah County since 2012. The gardens I have built and tend here have grown over 150 varieties of traditionally used medicinal, edible, perennial, and native dye plants. I have a dream of organizing community learning gardens where others can grow medicinal plants and learn together the practices of growing, harvesting, preserving, and making home remedies for themselves in each season, creating networks not only of the tangible resources needed but also the inter-communal and generational knowledge.
