Peter has performed and/or recorded with such diverse artists as Carly Simon, Leonard Bernstein, Jimmy Webb, Marilyn Maye Julie Taymor, The Duprees, Edgar Winter, Queen Latifah, Billy J Kramer, Linda Eder, Kris Kristofferson, Kat Edmonson, Sophie B. Hawkins, Andrea Bocelli, Dionne Warwick, Willie Nelson, Hall and Oates, Marc Shaiman, Frank Filipetti, Lesley Gore, Joel Grey, The Platters, Harvey Fierstein, Lorna Luft, Clint Holmes, Liz Callaway, Mary Fahl, The Happenings and many more.
Peter has released 5 albums, “Cape Ann” “Wired To The Moon” “Time Machine” Cowboy Song” and his most recent “Pocket Full Of Change.”
“Don’t Ever Go Away” from the Time Machine release went to #1 on the indie music charts. Peters song ” Elephants Never Forget” was a 2023 finalist in the IAMA – International Acoustic Music Awards in the Best Male artist category.
Peter composed the music for “Extra Innings” which won best film in both the “Manhattan Film Festival” and the “Jersey Shore Film Festival” and features Peter’s song “Every Ordinary Day.” Peter has just completed composing the music for “One Nation, Divisible” which includes Peter song “Say Their Names.”
Calo has also produced many recordings, including Carly Simon’s release, “Never Been Gone” and is featured in the documentary, “All You Need is Klaus”. He was guitarist for Showtime’s “Ray Donovan” and for the Tony and Grammy Award-winning original Broadway and film production of “Hairspray” and played on Hallelujah: Leonard Cohen, A Journey, A Song.
Peter played to a sold-out Carnegie hall as part of the” Lead Belly Tribute”, performing with Eric Burton (The Animals), Edgar Winter, Kenny Wayne Sheppard, Walter Trout and others.
In 2018 Peter was the musical director for the PBS Special “Jimmy Webb Live from The Kate” which also featured Ashley Campbell, the daughter of legend Glen Campbell.
