Easthampton Farmers Market - Winter Location

The Easthampton Farmers’ Market was created as a way to sell fresh vegetables and fruits to the community, but it also brings farmers and makers from all over the Pioneer Valley and Western Massachusetts to Easthampton!

We are a farm-focused market, meaning that our goal is that all vendors at the market will grow, raise, produce, or create their products themselves, or they will provide unique products that represent other local farmers.

Our mission statement: The Easthampton Farmers Market promotes regional agriculture to ensure a continuing supply of fresh, local produce in Easthampton. Our main purpose is to support farmers and preserve farmland for future generations by providing regional, small family farmers with opportunities to sell their fruits, vegetables, and other farm products. Another goal is to provide a weekly, seasonal community gathering space that centers around agriculture, fresh food, and sustainability. This market also seeks to assist those who may be experiencing food insecurity, by working with local organizations and by seeking out produce vendors who accept SNAP and HIP.

Our market is self-governed and self-sustained. The market does not have a traditional “manager” or owner. Each season the “ownership” of the market rotates to one of the participating farmers so that we have the formal structure which is necessary to obtain insurance and administer SNAP benefits. But that is where any authority of the “owner” ends; each farmer/vendor has an equal voice in the administration of the market in their role as a member of the Easthampton Farmer’s Market Steering Committee. The day to day operations of market are handled by a Market Liaison, and a dedicated team of community volunteers, who receive direction and guidance from the Steering Committee.
