LEAP’s Mobile Market began trucking fresh fruits and vegetables to underserved neighborhoods in Roanoke in 2015. Since then, the mobile market has added hours and stops, with a focus on senior living facilities, Roanoke housing authority locations, and other community partners. All stops are open to the public and accept cash, check, debit, credit, and SNAP-EBT. All LEAP Mobile Market stops double purchases made by recipients of SNAP, WIC, and Medicaid. The LEAP Mobile Market has also expanded to include stops in nearby rural communities, where residents do not have easy access to fresh produce.
