By means of a brief background, we are a POC family venture that is women led. It is Aaji (the mother/ grandmother of our family) and her daughter-in-law that are the leaders of our brand and mission, and are our heart and soul. Our mission is to demonstrate love through the food we serve and the good we do. Our family’s food from Coastal Indian traditions passed down from our Aajis (grandmothers) has been the centerpiece of love and comfort both in times of celebration and mourning/healing over the years. It is our desire through Aaji’s to deliver this same love and comfort through our food to individuals, families and our communities. With respect to our food, all our dishes/products will be coming from our Aajis’ (grandmothers’) wholesome recipes. We are focusing first on Coastal Indian dishes that can integrate and help lift/elevate our daily Western meals by adding flavor, color and warmth. Our first two product categories with a few varieties each are Tomato Lonsa (loan-sah) and Sprinkle-able Seasonings. Our Tomato Lonsa lovingly simmers fresh tomatoes with Aaji’s distinct blend of spices to create a unique balance of sweet, savory, spicy and tart flavors. Our Tomato Lonsa which comes in 4 varieties – Classic, Garlic, Spicy and Spicy Garlic acts as a wonderful accompaniment/enhancement to any meal, be it the simple (bread, cheese, crackers), the everyday (eggs, sandwiches/wraps, veggies), or the gourmet (grilled chicken, fish, meats and even pizza and pasta). Our Instagram account (@aajisfood) provides a glimpse into our customers’ favorite pairings to date.
