Over the last couple of years, resin casting has taken over the arts & crafts arena and has made its mark in the home and decor world. Petal and Pressed is a local small business that offers handcrafted resin art.

The artist behind Petal and Pressed is Kyle Nowakowski— a Pflugerville, TX-based artist. From coasters to bookmarks, delicate dried flowers to backyard creepy crawlers.

Kyle’s interest in resin art started when he was in grade school. About 30 years ago, a close family friend gifted him a scorpion cast in resin, and he kept it in his home office until he gave it to his step-son, Thomas, who was just as excited to receive it as Kyle was.

Petal and Pressed began after Kyle and his family went on a walk in their neighborhood. Thomas, being a typical seven year old boy, brought a net and jar in hopes of being able to catch some bugs. Over the course of several weeks, Kyle and Thomas caught spiders, minnows, butterflies, bees, and more! And what started out as a hobby and a way to bond with his step-son, turned into a profitable small business.

Petal and Pressed is a small batch resin shop. This means that only a few items are available at a time. All pieces contain locally gathered materials and are carefully handmade. Therefore, every piece is unique.
