NKU Butter - The Power of Shea!

My name is Joyce Kwamena-Poh, owner of NKU Butter, a boutique line of 100% natural and organic Shea butter products.

In my home country of Ghana, NKU (en-koo) is the traditional name of Shea butter.
Shea butter is nature’s wonder and superfood for the skin. It is considered one of the best moisturizers for the skin. It’s healing and moisturizing properties include - treating dry and ashy skin, soothing muscle aches, helping with eczema, healing blemishes, among many other benefits.

In its raw state, Shea butter is thick and heavy and needs to be ‘worked’ by rubbing it in your palms to obtain a soft creamy paste, which can then be applied to the body or hair.
I have used Shea butter since my childhood and know first-hand of its amazing benefits – I simply love and treasure Shea butter. I, however, needed it to be a little easier to apply.

In 2009 NKU Butter was born from the desire to share the wonderful benefits of Shea butter in a texture that is convenient and easy to apply. As a natural health advocate, it was very important for me to create 100% natural Shea butter products with ingredients that are beneficial and safe for the skin and hair. The more Shea butter there is in a product, the better the product is for the skin. The key ingredient in the NKU Butter line of products is raw, unrefined handmade African Shea butter from my home country Ghana. Shea butter is luxurious and gentle and benefits the skin like no other natural ingredient. The emphasis of NKU Butter products is on the naturalness of Shea butter and the benefits of the other natural ingredients and pure, organic essential oils.

All products are handmade with love in small batches with the best and most natural and organic ingredients without nasty chemicals and unnecessary fillers. They are packaged in eco-friendly glass containers.
