About

We offer Japanese waffles and organic Houjicha roasted green tea. We serve with wooden utensils and use eco-friendly packaging that is recyclable and compostable.

Wafu is Lakeland’s first Taiyaki stand owned by Lakelanders Benjamin Paniagua and Zack Allam.

The idea for Wafu came to Zack and Benjamin when they visited Japan and discovered a delicious street food treat called Taiyaki. Taiyaki is a sweet, fish-shaped waffle traditionally filled with anko or sweet red bean paste. The dessert is believed to have originated in Tokyo and is over one hundred years old.
